Together, we are one community. We are fortunate enough to interact in the lives of thousands of area youth and their families. With your assistance, we help them change their lives. We are also seeking adults who are interested in serving on the Advisory Board.

The youth is the hope of our future. Nearly 30of Mississippi’s children and youth have severe and persistent mental health needs which can impact every aspect of their lives.

Mental health is important at every stage in life. AmeriCorps members serve throughout Olympia and Thurston County at local schools and community-based nonprofit organizations. Our mission is to activate young people, ages 5-2 to find their voice, take action, and acquire powerful civic and 21st Century skills as they solve problems facing their communities. Teens In Public Service is a not-for-profit dedicated to developing future leaders committed to their communities. Services provided are based upon individual need and range from educational offerings to occupational skills training, job placement services and connection to needed social services. We are committed to providing youth with the resources they need to launch into productive, healthy and independent lives. Court services staff work to build a comprehensive Juvenile Justice strategy to best serve the needs of youth in their community. Seamless case management allows for better information gathering and coordination of services, which lead to improved data collection, improved relationships with youth and families and ultimately greater success with the youth. Service -learning is a teaching and learning strategy that connects academic curriculum to community problem-solving. Some services are only open to young people, and some work with family as well.

Most areas have several youth support services, but the types of service , names and the way they operate vary a lot.
