As a community based agency, YSB responds to the changing needs of children and families in the Illinois Valley through a variety of programs.

Based upon the Bureau ’s philosophy that our client population is “asset laden” as opposed to “deficit burdene” our approach is to promote the healthy. Natural Resouces Services (NRS) works directly with Humboldt County community leaders, schools and parents to improve safety and encourage more children to safely walk and bicycle to school.
The Bureau works cooperatively with the schools, police, community resources, youth and their parents to encourage our youth to strive for their full potential. Bureaus dedication to effective service with care and integrity is recognized by families, schools, and others throughout the communities we serve. This program utilizes state-of-the-art electronic technology, such as voice recognition, ankle bracelets. We’ll be playing parlor games like jeopardy, charades, pictionary, and more. Registration is required for access. Depending on the requirements of the practicum, YSB generally entertains placements completed between the months of September and April each year. Our staff specialize in working with children and adolescents.

Programs and Services. The YSB T2T program will earn participants community service credit, and will also look pretty good on college applications! Each peer educator will be expected to attend four of eight training sessions to be held throughout the school year.
