The Riggs Ambulance Tactical EMS Team (TEMS) provides medical support to the SWAT teams of our local law enforcement agencies. The goal of the Tactical Medicine fellowship is to uniquely prepare academic emergency physicians for leadership, field support and medical direction of law enforcement special operations and tactical medicine programs. TMI specializes in tactical law enforcement medicine and military combat medicine, including tactical combat and emergency casualty care. As an integral part of a tactical unit, TEMS helps maintain a healthy and safer environment for both law enforcement and the public.
