Community access respite service

Our recreation activities are also available to respite members during their stay. Our transitional housing helps people with psychiatric disabilities move from shelters and hospitals into the community.


Application Process: Please apply through your service provider or shelter. We build beautiful housing complexes with on-site services where tenants can feel proud to live. We take great pride in having attractive décor, and maintaining properties with landscaped gardens, fresh paint on the walls, and other amenities that help tenants connect as neighbors and friends.

Our team approach is to have a pool of respite workers that give CRS their availabilities and then match them with participants and families on a weekly basis.

CRS matches participants with a variety of workers, which ensures flexibility is achieved. Based on a goal-oriente case management model, CARS provides a range of individualised support services to. There are four agencies in Windsor and Essex County that provide respite services for families. Some of the agencies provide services according to the age of the person who has the disability. This gives you the opportunity to have a social experience and interact with others.


The respite worker will provide care and supervision according to individual child’s needs while working in a child focuse family centered environment. The children, during their stay, will have the opportunity to enjoy an interactive, exciting and safe environment in a fun-loving atmosphere.
