Bumper bar repair

How to install a grille guard? What is a bull bar bumper? We can repair your bumper bar to its previous condition without the expensive option of replacing the bar or the inconvenience of losing your vehicle for days to a panel shop. The damage may have been the result of an embarrassing scuff or scrape from reversing into a garage door or a minor accident in a carpark.

Hold the grille bar in place with tape, if necessary, until the repair is complete.

This bumper cover is polypropylene so we are using a polypropylene rod with the Nitrogen Welding System. Melt the rod into the groove that you just made and be sure to melt the rod AND the existing plastic together. Large pieces can be cut off with a razor blade.

Once the primer has hardene dry sand the repaired areas with 400-grit paper to level it and remove any imperfections. Repaired in less than three minutes. Anyone can do this with one simple tool.

For minor dents and scratches, you can get a professional repair for around $to $60 or you can do it yourself for little to no cost. Due to this design, energy absorbers are considered one-time use components and must be replaced during collision repair.

The energy absorbing material is attached to an UHSS (Ultra High Strength Steel) or aluminum bumper reinforcement bar. Like the energy absorbers, a reinforcement bar must be replaced if damaged. In this episode Dave goes through the different ways to repair and paint your plastic bumper bars. To paint the bumper and fade the paint by a body shop you will spend another $500. In most cases, it is cheaper to repair a damaged bumper than replacing it.

Wrenches and Screwdrivers – For removing and replacing the bumper cover. A Variety of Sandpaper – Have at least a selection of from 80- to 400-grit paper. A finer grit will give you a smoother surface for painting. If the cut or tear is large, you might have to align and then hold the edges of the repair with masking tape on the front of the fascia.

Use self-stick fiberglass- repair tape to add structure to the cut or tear. The material functions as both epoxy and filler, ideal for areas where hard fillers can’t provide enough flexibility for permanent repairs. We will arrange a convenient time to repair your car’s scratches or stone chips, bumper damage, alloy wheels, side mirror or headlights at a place that suits you. First up is the bumper energy absorber. In general, bumper energy absorbers are designed to absorb minor collision energy by crushing or collapsing, thus reducing physical damage to the vehicle structure.

Bumper energy absorbers are typically designed for one-time use and must be replaced if damaged. Apply a liberal amount of repair material to the damaged area so that you make the surface a little higher than surrounding bumper. Use a spreader like a squeegee to carefully smooth out the filler.

Make sure to push the filler into any scratches to fill them right to the bottom. The Touch Up Guys are highly trained technicians, operating a fleet of mobile scratch and dent repair vans in every major city across all states. We provide convenience at affordable prices!
