The child , adult, and family services curriculum leads to employment opportunities in the helping professions working with children , adults , and families in a variety of public and private human service agencies and organizations. Students select one or more options within the major: child program , youth program, or adult and family program. One result of increasing stressors within our society, such as poverty, crime, substance abuse, and family violence , is that those who are least able to protect themselves are most often victimized by their caregivers or by their own self-destructive actions.

Counselors have earned advanced professional degrees in either psychology or social work and are licensed or working towards licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
